We welcome families, grandparents and carers from Bendigo and the surrounding areas. Our diverse collection of over 1,500 toys supports children’s development from birth through to early primary school, with thoughtfully curated options to suit every stage of play and learning.

Membership Types & Fees
Small Family
- Borrow up to 3 toys at a time
- Party Pack Hire (additional fee applies)
- 4 duties per calendar year
Large Family
- Borrow up to 6 toys at a time
- Party Pack Hire (additional fee applies)
- 4 duties per calendar year
Trial Membership
- Borrow up to 3 toys at a time
- Party Pack Hire (additional fees apply)
- No roster duties
- Limit of 1 trial per member
Optional Roster Levy is also available for families unable to commit to volunteer duties throughout the year. An additional fee of $75 applies per year.
Members can choose any membership type (small or large family)
Concession card holders must provide proof upon joining.
We also offer:

- Grandparent-friendly options – for those borrowing toys for visiting grandchildren

Roster Duty Expectations
The Toy Library is entirely volunteer-run, and every member plays a role in keeping it running.
- All general members are required to complete rostered duties throughout the year.
- Duties are scheduled on open days and are always shared with a committee member.
- Members will be asked to nominate their preferred duty day when joining.
- The roster is published on our website and in our newsletters, which are also available at the Toy Library.
If you’re unable to attend your rostered session:
- You are welcome to arrange a swap with another member, family member or trsuted friend
- If unsuccessful, please get in contact with our Rostering Coordinator as early as possible. Contact details are included in your roster reminders.
In addition, members are required to participate in our annual toy stocktake in mid-December, held during our Christmas shut-down period.
If you prefer not to complete rostered duties, you may opt to pay the $75 Roster Levy at the time of joining.
Eligibility
Our toy collection is most suitable for children from birth through to early primary school. While there’s no strict age limit, toys are generally best matched to children who are pre-school age at the time of joining. Members are welcome to continue borrowing into the Prep year and beyond, provided their membership remains current.
We aim to support children at a wide range of developmental stages, with toys that encourage creativity, learning, and skill-building through play. Our categories are thoughtfully curated to reflect the diverse needs and interests of the families in our community.
